Dojo procedures and policy for COVID-19.
All classes are also available via video conferencing for your safety!
1. If you are sick at all DO NOT COME TO DOJO.
2. If you are in a high risk group because of age or other health concerns DO NOT COME TO DOJO.
3. If you come to Dojo please adhere to the following procedures:
A. Mask vs No Mask: Kickboxing, Wing Chun, and Kenpo classes are structured to maintain social distancing so a mask for the students is not required. Fencing and private lessons that are at close proximity (Kenpo self-defense techniques and Wing Chun Chi Sau) a mask is required for the client. Staff will always have a mask on for YOUR increased safety.
B. We have soap and water in the bathroom and we have hand sanitizer on the front desk. Use them after your workout. Do not touch your face without washing hands prior.
C. Social distancing: There must be an empty one mat minimum in all directions between students. This will keep every student in their own 100 square foot "bubble." The mats are arranged to make this spacing obvious.
For kickboxing classes, four bags have been removed from our line up so that the spacing between bags is 6 feet or more.
We will not be doing partner drills or sparring in group classes because it is impossible to do such while maintaining required social distancing. Private lessons if the client is wearing a mask and they want to work partner exercises with their instructor (who is also masked) they can. Both will wash hands immediately following.
Be aware of social distancing in the lobby area as well. Please do not bring guests to watch your class. One parent per attending child in lobby only. Parents can also watch the class remotely via our video portal (mute and turn camera off please).
D. Facility cleaning. Dojo already has a high standard of cleanliness and preventive measures but we will not be using any shared equipment and every used surface will be sanitized between every class.
E. Do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for class and please leave as expediently as possible. Class schedules have been adjusted to allow time for one group to leave before the other arrives to improve social distancing and reduce room occupancy while also giving us a gap to clean equipment/surfaces between classes.
F. Gloves/wraps will not be available for borrowing. All kickboxing participants must have their own.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. We will do our best to keep classes engaging and of benefit to mind and body while also trying to maximize everyone's safety.
